HSC process self portrait. ugh

This'll be my first official critique, I think. I hope I do well. You are very beautiful, by the by.

Positives:
I think this painting is very lovely. I especially love the hair, and all the varying colors and highlights in the hair have been done very well. The skin tone is also perfectly done and all the highlighted areas on your face are well placed and the perceived light source is consistent.

Improvements:
When I compare this painting to your photographs, I notice 2 things right away: 1. The nose and eyes in the painting are out of proportion with the rest of the face. They are too small. 2. The gums (in the mouth) on the painting are too dark, and/or look a little puffy.

Those were the 2 things I noticed. Good luck finishing it and studying for your trials. Though, as I write that, I wonder if all that is still going on, I didn't pay attention to when you posted this.
